The Canal Lake is a 40 peg pleasure and match lake containing a good stock of: carp, bream, tench, chub, roach, rudd and perch.

The recent restocking of this lake is sure to make it prolific, with all records expected to be smashed in 2008. Over 1000lb of mixed silver fish have been added recently, and with the additional work that is scheduled over the next 12 months, this will surely be one of the best match venues in the North West.

The fish can be caught on most methods on this lake, but the favourite tactics seem to be fishing close up to the far bank on pellet. As with the Serpentine Lake, there are a few illusive specimen carp that still reside within the canal and are rumoured to be close to 30lb!
